By Equipping Us To Change Lives
We rely solely on donations to run all our projects. Therefore, all donations received go towards our projects to uplift and benefit those who are in dire need. We are intentional about how we use our donations and try to put each donated item to its best use.
In March 2015, Johannesburg Dream Center was approved as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO), which allows us to issue Section 18A receipts, for tax deductions, to individuals and/or companies for qualifying donations. Please contact us for more information about this.
There are several things we need to make our mission, of changing the atmosphere of Johannesburg, a success.
Monetary funds allow us to keep the lights on at the office, as well as allow us to fund all other projects. With donated funds we can pay our bills; purchase office supplies needed for our Adult Empowerment Project; add a little extra to our monthly Grocery and Children’s outreaches; fund our Youth Empowerment projects, etc. Each cent is spent appropriately to ensure that our community is served in the best way possible. You can also choose which project to benefit from your donated funds. Simply add it in the payment reference. For example: to benefit the Grocery Outreach, use “groceries” as your reference, etc.
You can donate funds via depositing it into our bank account, or by using your credit/debit card.
Advantages For Corporate Donors
No item is off limits when you want to donate to us. We accept all forms of donated items, including (but not limited to) the following:
– Clothing and shoes – formal or corporate clothing, for example, go towards our Adult Empowerment program, where we provide work/interview appropriate clothing. We also accept all other styles of clothing and shoes. If you want, you can also donate your pre-loved undergarments, given it is still in a wearable condition.
– Non-perishable grocery items – this we put towards our monthly Grocery and Children’s outreaches. All non-perishable grocery items are welcome and may include food, sweets and treats for the kids, personal hygiene products, cleaning products, other household items, etc. Any item that you use daily to run your household is welcome. And yes, even dog/other pet food is very welcome, as we love feeding our fury and feathered friends as well. Please click on this link to find a list of our monthly grocery wish list.
– Other items – laptops, stationary, toys, tools, books, cooking utensils, linen, furniture, appliances (please ensure that these appliances are still in a working condition), arts and crafts items, sewing items, bags, car seats, walkers and wheelchairs, etc. Anything usable that you would like to donate, we will take and make good use of it.
– Do you or your company want to donate a vehicle? Yes, we even accept that! We are in need of a vehicle for the transportation of donations and volunteers. If you can fill this need, please contact us.
Please note, we accept any donated items. If we cannot directly fill a need with your pre-loved items, we will either sell the items and put the funds towards one of our projects, or we ensure you that your items will go towards a worthy cause, as we are partnered with various other charity organisations that we will donate to on your behalf.
Please drop off all donations at our offices for re-distribution.

Donate Your Time
Johannesburg Dream Center and its projects benefit and rely greatly from volunteers committed to making a difference, and we cannot run successful outreaches and projects without them. We are always in need of a helping hand, or more, to assist with various tasks and projects. From assisting in the office to sort out donations and type up CV’s for our beneficiaries, to going into the community and helping to hand out grocery parcels, even helping us collect donations and hosting fundraisers – there are many things our volunteers help us achieve.
If you are interested and would like to become a part of an amazing group of atmosphere changes, please follow this link and fill out our volunteer application form.
